2022 Coulee Estate Pinot Noir

Josh's Notes

Coulee is located in the Eola-Amity Hills and has so much complexity in a tiny little vineyard. The individual lots that made the blend for this wine were south and east facing slopes, all on volcanic soils. This wine is made up of all of that in clones 667 and Pommard with 50% of the maceration done with whole clusters. Aromatically complex - forest floor on a fall day, freshly peeled oranges, cranberry and pomegranate, with hints of anise. The wine itself starts out soft and broad but builds to a large wine with a lot of length to the finish. Great acidity balances out the hints of French oak. Tasted over multiple days and the wine really opened up - a great sign of aging potential. Decant to enjoy this delicate monster now and enjoy through 2044.
