2022 Schafer Estate Syrah

Our first ever take on this estate vineyard site, named after the incredible Schafer family of whom we purchased the property. Located in the Mill Creek area of Walla Walla, higher elevation coming right out of a canyon of the Blue Mountains, the vineyard sees great airflow and large daily temperature swings. The wine is ripe, red fruit and deep darkly colored, and hints of meat smoking over the perfect firewood. Brooding, large tannins, more red fruit on the palate, glycerin, and a really fun tie back to more smoked meats. I really enjoy how this wine finishes. Decant now and drink or enjoy 2027 through 2042.
