2022 McQueen Estate Syrah

Located on the south side of McQueen on terraces, all head trained Syrah in two different clones - Phelps and 174. Black peppercorn, iron, stir fry, black olive, and fresh figs - there is a large range aromatically on this wine. These two tiny vineyard blocks are the most challenging to farm as they are planted straight into fractured basalt and are totally exposed on the hillside to the intense wind. Pure sex appeal on the palate, ultra silky tannin giving way to the “velvet glove” experience in this Syrah. Pure pleasure in a bottle. Drink now through 2040.
